For many of the teams that earned a trip and won they had Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. Ironically, none of the quarterbacks on this list won the quarterback challenge.

1. Number one has to be Joe Montana. Montana led the 49ers to multiple Super Bowl wins. He also possesses the record for highest quarterback rating in a Super Bowl. His poise and consistency were a big reason why the 49ers had a dynasty.

2. Tom Brady isn’t only one of the best looking NFL players according to many people, he a part of the elite Super Bowl winning quarterbacks club. Brady led the Patriots to three Super Bowl wins in 2001, 2003 and 2004.

3. Bart Starr is probably one of the most underrated quarterbacks of all time. While many will remember the Packers of the Lombardi era as a tough hard nose team, which they were, swept under the rug of perception was Starr’s masterful command of the game. Due to his excellent leadership skills, preparation in quarterback drills, and intense film study, he was one of the main reasons why the Packers were so good.

4. Terry Bradshaw led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl wins. Additionally, his play in the big game earned him MVP honors in Super Bowl XIII and XIV.

5. Troy Aikman joins the list of Super Bowl winning quarterbacks. Troy was an integral part of the Dallas Cowboys dynasty of the early nineties, which included three Super Bowl wins.

6. Steve Young did a stellar job filling the shoes of Joe Montana in San Francisco. He rose and performed well leading the 49ers to three Super Bowl championships.

7. Jim Plunkett led the Oakland Raiders to two Super Bowl championships in the early eighties. His play was instrumental in their wins.

8. Roger Staubach was part of the Dallas Cowboys in their storied Tom Landry era. His play earned him a mention in this list of top ten Super Bowl winning quarterbacks.

9. John Elway’s career came full circle. Early in his playing days, he lost the first three Super Bowls he went to but finished his career with two Super Bowl wins.
